Rochelle back on This Morning

Hi all, firstly so sorry for the lack of updates recently. It’s end of the school year at work – and I don’t finish until next Wednesday – it’s insanely busy I’m doing so much so sadly the site has had to suffer a bit. Sorry for the lack of updates, normal service should resume shortly.

Just to compliment the news about the site, as you are aware Rochelle and Marvin are back on This Morning hosting duties this summer, starting from today, and every Friday!

Why do The Saturdays Tours start in Scotland?

Thursday’s question of the day is ‘Why do The Saturdays always start their tours in Scotland?’

The Scottish Daily Record has the answer!

Rochelle has revealed one of the reasons so many of The Saturdays tours start in Glasgow – the shopping. With the girls again kicking off a national tour in Scotland’s biggest city, the pop princess confessed premium shopping precinct Buchanan Street has become part of her pre-show ritual. And while the Style Mile may very well be an appropriate place for one of the hottest groups around, Rochelle reckons Glasgow has a lot more going for it than just the boutiques.

She said: “I’m loving the fact we’re starting the tour in Glasgow. It’s something we always try and do. It’s a great city and they always love to make a serious noise. The way that they go crazy, you don’t need to ask them twice. We do quite a lot of shopping in Glasgow. It’s part of the pre-show ritual. It’s not supposed to be, but it’s always what ends up happening!”

The Saturdays are hitting Glasgow in support of their greatest hits album, set for release in August. Fans needn’t worry though. The girl band say they’ve far from run their course, with plans to get into the studio later in 2014 for their fifth studio album. Aimed at being a celebration of their six years together, it features 13 top 10 singles, plus three new tracks.

Rochelle explained: “We’re on our 18th single so we thought why not now, we want to make sure it all fits on one CD.

“Making it brought on loads of fond memories, it’s mad when you look back at old videos and stuff.

“Looking back my favourite moment to date was the first number one. We didn’t get it until our 14th single so it was a long time coming, loads of times we were pipped to the post at the last moment.”

But with the birth of their daughter, Alaia-Mai last May, does she find it tough being in the band?

“Not at all, other than the obvious demands on time. We’re lucky that we both understand what comes of the industry – if anything it’s a plus. Having a daughter changed my outlook on everything, she’s my number one. There are a lot of working mothers in the world and I think I just have a slightly different job to everyone else. I’m just lucky I can bring my daughter with me.”

Luckily for Rochelle, Buchanan Street does boast plenty of high-end infant fashion. The Saturdays play Clyde Auditorium Sunday, September 7.

It’s Little Saturdays plus Frankie’s Hen (again)

Seems Frankie just can’t get enough of having Hen do’s as she celebrated her SECOND on this weekend – without Una (whom is recovering from a bout of Tonsillitis)

It seems the girls where also mistaken for Little Mix at the Wireless Festival. A lot to do about nothing, the general public just see them both as girl groups anyway!

I’m doing a lot of behind-the-scenes work on the site, I’m hoping to get something ready soon – which explains why sometimes the site looks a bit weird – I am hoping to get it ready sooner rather than later, but if you do pop over and everything looks odd, don’t panic, all will return to normal soon!

Whilst you are waiting, I mean What Are You Waiting For? – give the video another view on youtube! Still not reached 500,000 yet!

The Saturdays are working mums!

Remember we are trying to push ‘What Are You Waiting For?’ music video towards 500,000 views – currently just over 250,000 – So please click here and give it a view 🙂

More from South West Live the weekend just gone, must have been a press day or something! The girls have been chatting to DigitalSpy about being working parents!

“You just make it work, really. It’s the same as any other working mum,” Frankie Sandford, mother of 8-month-old son Parker, said.

“There’s a lot of juggling and there’s a lot of help from other people, but we’ve always been a family-orientated band, so we never feel like we have to choose between the two. We’re really lucky.”

The Saturdays also insisted that their kids will be “always around” when they go on tour later this year to support their greatest hits album.

Asked if they would encourage their children to go into fame, Humes – who has daughter Alaia-Mai with JLS star Marvin – said: “[They can do] whatever they want to do.

“They’re so young and it’s such an early stage, but whatever they want to do, we’ll support them in.”
