The Saturdays are knocking plans for a 2010 UK arena tour on the head as they will be too busy on world domination.
But festivals are definitely on the agenda for the Lycra-loving fivesome, whose latest album Wordshaker is out now.
Leggy Rochelle Wiseman told me: “We badly want to do a tour, but we’ve got a lot of things to do, so it’s about fitting it in with Asia and Europe.”
“We wanted an arena tour last year but you have to come up in stages. Last year’s small theatre tour was much more personal. We had been supporting other people, so it was refreshing.”
“As much as we love supporting we always worry whether the crowd will like us because they’ve come to see the other person.”
“But we will be doing all the festivals. The first ones were terrifying. Because we’re pop we thought we’d get booed.”
“We went from being frightened to getting the best reaction.”
Despite a mega 2009, there has been no BRITs nomination for The Saturdays, who are promoting the new Into Glamour fragrance from Impulse.
Rochelle, 20, continued: “We were under no illusions. It took Girls Aloud six years.”
The girls will be flying the flag for JLS at next Tuesday’s awards – particularly Rochelle, who has been getting friendly with Marvin Humes, 24.
She added: “Marvin is very sweet but it’s very early on.”
