Mollie King

Mollie hosts The Show: TEN at the Bullring

This one we attended! It was an awesome day out had by all, Mollie did a great job hosting and everyone loved the performance!

It’s been a month of celebrations at Bullring with the iconic centre along with a number of shops, including Selfridges, celebrating their 10th anniversary in the city.

On  4th September Bullring turned ten and revealed an exciting month of activity and installations including the bull’s tenth outfit and a chocolate model of the We Are So City model created by Cadbury World. Also unveiled was the TENder Moments installation on St Martin’s Walk where customers could attach their birthday messages for Bullring onto a padlock.

It was also announced that girl band The Saturdays would be performing at the centre’s birthday finale following The Show: Ten presented by Mollie King. On Saturday evening thousands of shoppers packed into Bullring to catch a glimpse of the band as they performed a four song set before being surprised by a sprinkling of glitter and confetti as the performance came to a close.

Tim Walley, General Manager at Bullring, commented: “It’s been a fantastic month of celebrations, which have seen the residents of Birmingham really get into the celebratory spirit whether it be to add a padlock to the TENder Moments installation or wish us a happy birthday on Twitter.

“The Show: Ten and the performance by The Saturdays this weekend was a great way to end our month of celebrations especially as our final surprise in the form of a glitter and confetti explosion was revealed.”

#BullringTEN

Tomorrow our very own Mollie will be hosting FIVE fashion shows at Birmingham’s Bullring Shopping Centre as part of the centres 10th anniversary celebration. As part of the finale the rest of the girls will be joining Mollie on stage after 7pm for a special performance!

We are in attendance at the 7pm show thanks to the generosity of the bullring, and we will be tweeting all day from the event! If you are also attending, please tweet us, and tweet events using the #BullringTEN hashtag. We will love to see you down there joining in with the fun at the shopping centre!

If you are going down and don’t have tickets for any of Mollie’s shows (11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm & 7pm) we advise you to read up on what is happening on the Bullring website.

They are very clear on what you should, and shouldn’t expect from the event. What is clear that if you don’t have tickets for the 7pm show – which includes a performance – you are not allowed to ‘queue’ for the event until AFTER the 5pm show has ended. It also says that the shopping centre have the right to close of areas if there are too many people around. It’s also good to mention that it makes it very clear that meeting Mollie or the girls isn’t something to expect and that any gifts you have for the girls should be left at the Bullring Management Office who will pass them on.

The key thing here to remember is that the bullring is a shopping centre, and this is an event taking place at at shopping centre, this isn’t a concert arena, so should be respected as one.

I know many people are going down with potentially the first task is to meet Mollie and the rest of the girls and everything else is secondary, but I don’t think the bullring site could be any clearer regarding this, so if you are travelling a long distance and don’t meet the girls, you can’t say you haven’t been forewarned!

Not to forget Vanessa is also hosting a fashion show, she will be around an hour away (on a train) at the HighCross Shopping Centre in Leicester. So make sure you pop down there and give Vanessa your support too. Sadly we can’t attend this one now due to travelling arrangements and having to be seated for the 7pm show prior to the start, but if you are going please tweet us and we will RT you 🙂

First Festive Show Confirmed

Hey all! It’s Monday again, and its my birthday week, again …

Anyway, we start the day with the news that our girls are playing the First Direct Arena, Leeds on 1st December. No sadly its not the first date of their new arena tour, it’s part of the 96.3 Radio Aire Christmas Xmas Party Live.

The event is scheduled for 1st December (Which is a Sunday!) Tickets cost between £41-£30. Other acts so far confirmed Example, The Vamps, Eliza Dolittle and seemingly the girls new long-term support act Conor Maynard.

Hopefully this is the first of a few shows over Xmas, hopefully they will get slots at the big shows in London and Manchester too, be a nice little album promo before the Xmas sales rush!

Apart from that not much else going on, lots of stories about Rochelle’s little accident, but all is well there. Mollie has been at her second home, London Fashion Week, and probably no doubt dancing around her house to the new Britney Spears song that dropped yesterday, and Frankie is still pregnant!

There is also rumours going around that the girls are (again) being lined up for an X-Factor performance. I know after last time (which it didn’t happen, they where seemingly bumped off for Rihanna) a few of us are skeptical. Let’s just wait and see shall we.

Rehearsals start!

According to various rumblings by the girls on twitter, the girls are finally heading into rehearsals for Disco Love today. The choreography was sorted out earlier in the week, so it’s time to put it all together! I still feel its sad that the girls didn’t perform this at the summer festivals, huge captive audiences, would have given the song a nice little boost.

I notice the song hasn’t actually been play-listed by BBC yet, although it is getting a lot of love from Capital right now. Hopefully the TV airplay will also step up a tad in the coming few weeks, the single is released in just three weeks! Hopefully decent TV promo is being lined up, would love to see them on a few more shows!

Chasing The Saturdays is up for an award, yes really! Mind Charity have listed it due to Frankie’s moment in the show where she opened up about her depression and anxiety.

Voting Opportunity! BBC Radio 1 has listed ‘What About Us’ in their ‘Ultimate A-List’ so pop over to the site and vote for the girls!

PopJustice has also listed ‘Gentleman’ for their 20 Quid Music Prize!

Mollie returned to Heathrow yesterday, after her (and Adam’s) quick visit to the South of France! I’ve added a few pictures below.

Mollie on Radio 1, Album finished

Hey all! Hope all is good in your world right now.

Mollie was on BBC Radio 1 this morning doing ‘Call or Delete’, as I’m still away from home I might not be able to get it online, although I will do my best, keep an eye on the twitter account for updates 🙂 but I’m sure those in the UK will be able to listen to it again from the BBC Radio 1 Website later this morning. Seems the Disco Love promo continues, despite its late release date, just hope radio doesn’t pick it up too early and everyone is bored of it come 6th October.

Talking release dates, the girls official twitter tweeted last night:

For those who dropped their tea just there this means the album has been mastered and its ready to be printed (or sent to iTunes). This would suggest that maybe the rumoured release date of the album of being a week after the single is true. It’s all finally coming everyone 🙂

Mollie, Frankie, Album, Bluewater

Firstly we start with the news that Mollie was out and about in the North East yesterday, presenting a National Lottery Award to the favourite educational project to the Newcastle based Seven Stories.

“Seven Stories is a place that really encourages reading and storytelling,” she said. “A problem with dyslexia is that people can sometimes jump to the conclusion, ‘Oh, she’s thick’. “Some people find spelling difficult and for some people it’s reading. My spelling is fine but for me it is the reading. “They all knew I was dyslexic at school but when we had to read a story out aloud in class I hated it. “Growing up, it definitely put me off reading books but my mum would help me, reading to me and encouraging me to read. It’s so important to have good stories that really appeal to children.”

I’ve added some pictures from the event below 🙂

Frankie has also been out and about, but for different reasons, seems to be giving Mothercare some kind promotion as herself and Wayne have been shopping for baby items (boy of course!) again added some pictures of the glowing Frankie below.

Also Frankie has tweeted today that they are making final decisions about the album, and The Alias tweeted that they are in the studio with the girls, and of course as is The Saturday at the moment threw in another year, this time 1979!! We will be in the swinging 60s soon!!

Also incase you’ve not heard, Rochelle and Marvin are presenting ‘This Morning’ on Friday 23rd August. This is the same day as the girls show in Scarborough (250miles away from London) – Rochelle has said she WILL be at the show, as will we! 🙂

Last, but never least, we hope we will see some of your down at Bluewater THIS SATURDAY, for the girls first show in August. We’ve kindly now got a Meet & Greet with the group, but we would love to see more of you down there too. Tickets are (widely) available for the new venue in Kent, so pop over to Ticketmaster and grab yourselves a ticket now! 🙂 This is a full concert everyone, with support acts too (Only The Young and James Graham)

The girls hit Alton Towers

You might remember all those many months ago when we announced that Frankie was to become a Mind Ambassador and alongside this a competition was created to spend the day with Frankie at Alton Towers? Well today was that day and a lucky few managed to spend the day with Frankie, Mollie and Vanessa at Alton Towers.

We do hope that the Mind Charity have got what they wanted from this day which was a key exposure for the charity and the good work they do for those suffering from mental illnesses such as depression which obviously our Frankie was treated for 🙂
