Finest Selection : The Greatest Hits

Hey all! Hope your Monday is doing great. Just catching up with the weekend news.

Firstly, the Greatest Hits now has a title. ‘Finest Selection : The Greatest Hits‘ will be released at the start of August! A Greatest Hits Megamix video is due to be added to VEVO today, as soon as it is I’ll add it up here.

Secondly, as we revealed – but not many seemed to take notice – a few weeks back, the lead single from Finest Selection : The Greatest Hits, is called ‘What Are You Waiting For‘ which is set to premiere in the next few coming weeks – more details on that shortly!

On Saturday we attended the signing at H Samuel at Westfield London, as always the girls where in fine form! Signing and greeting the 250+ fans who managed to grab a wristband! We also had a private meeting with Mollie to hand over her birthday book and your charity money – £550!! – the meet was filmed for a forthcoming flip video and I’m awaiting pictures from the girls management. As soon as I have these I will post up what happened.

I will say that Mollie was totally taken back – as I was – with your generosity, getting £550 was an awesome achievement by the community, so thanks to every single one of you who donated! As I said more on this shortly 🙂

Mollie won’t go solo, tour ideas

Hey all! Hope you all enjoyed the extra day over the MayDay Bank Holiday weekend! I spent most of the afternoon fighting against major train engineering works, but it was all worth it 🙂

We start today with a snippet from Mollie’s Interview with the Sunday Express Magazine which was out on well Sunday!

She told the Sunday Express magazine: ”I think I would have the guts to go it alone.

”But I just love doing it with the girls because, as much as you can call your mum when you get off stage, you can never explain the exact feeling.

”With the girls when you come off, you’re all like, ‘My God! Did you see that?’ And that’s something you’ll never get if you’re up there on your own.”

I bring this up, mainly because there are other articles doing the rounds that Una wouldn’t mind going solo – take what you will with these stories, it seems for any act as soon as a ‘Greatest Hits’ is announced the media goes into overdrive with split, and solo stories.

Those hoping for a London Summer Show, CapitalFM’s Summer Time Ball takes place on Saturday 21st June at London’s Wembley Stadium – announcements about who is there are imminent – they did perform there last year so .. although sadly there reception wasn’t great 🙁

Talking tours, it will be September before you know it – really, I know we need to get summer out the way first – we are wondering what you would like to see from the tour. I tweeted some suggestions the other week, such as maybe an ‘album medley’ from each release, giving us a taste of more than just the singles. Others would love to see a return to an acoustic set similar from the first tour. Tweet us some of your ideas @TheSatsCoUk.

News Round up – 30th April 2014

Happy Hump Day!

I will start by mentioning Mollie’s Birthday Book again, if you want to help out with that all the information can be found here but the main cause for me and the site is the huge generosity that TeamSats have already done in raising money for Dyslexia Action. We are currently at £337, and would love to start May off by reaching £350!! It’s only £13 away, so if you can please reach into your new pay and donate a pound – seriously every little helps. We spoke to the charity just over a week ago and they are so supportive and are amazed by the support so far, so if you can help please do so! 100% of the money raised goes to the Charity, every last penny, so please donate 🙂 All the information you need to donate is on the official JustGiving Page!

In other news, Frankie went to the gym (I know right!) and the Daily Mail got rather excited over her Parker iPhone case (see pictures below!) The Daily Mail also like Mollie’s hat plus Rochelle’s recent attire at Sweat.

Mollie speaks out about dyslexia

Here’s an interview that Mollie did for the Nth Degree Book Club talking about becoming a Dyslexia Action Ambassador. The interview has been kindly given to the site by Rosie, (@MarvelousMollie) can you please contact her if you want to use the Interview, and leave her tags intact. This interview isn’t widely available as it appears in an exclusive book that costs £80!
After reading, Rosie has also written a blog about the interview, and about the filming that we did – yes I am involved – at Dyslexia Action HQ last week, so please give that a read and if you can please donate to Mollie’s 2014 Birthday Book, we are amazing just £13 short of an increased target of £350! 100% of the money goes direct to Dyslexia Action. Happy Birthday To Us!

In an amazing turn of events, today sees The Saturdays Fansite reach it’s 6th birthday.

As those of you who have been here since Day 1, I generally write a long, drawn out message but this year I’m going to keep it quick and simple.

Never once would I have thought that this site would still be going six years later, it is a pretty amazing achievement, so thank to everyone who has helped over the years.

Secondly huge and personal thanks from me, to each of the five members of The Saturdays, thanks for your kind words over the years and the support that you have shown the site. Also thanks to the girls management and their record label who have also been very kind and supportive over the years.

And last, but never least, major thanks to you, the visitors, who keep coming to the site and seeing what stuff I decide to post on a daily (or so) basis.

I ended last year’s message by saying:

Thank you one and all! Lets hope Year 6 produces the new album, a new tour and everything we can wish for, the same way Year 5 ended with the girls first UK Number One single!

Sadly it seems the number one single isn’t forthcoming, but the tour certainly is!

Here we roll into Year 7 … which is scary and exciting at the same time. Thanks to you all from the deepest part of my heart!

Matt 🙂 x
