‘Ego’ Chart Update

This week could see the rise of ‘Ego’ on the UK Top 40 Singles Chart. It has been climbing on the UK iTunes for a few weeks, peaking  today at #22 giving it a midweek of Top 40 yesterday, and a higher Top 40 placement today. It’s physical release is not til’ 04th January 2010, and the current early sales are down to the video and airplay.

Fingers crossed, for this could be a big hit for the girls!

Chart Update: ‘Wordshaker’ and “Forever Is Over”

Forever Is Over

The Saturdays second album Wordshaker has entered the UK Album Chart at #9 this week. Midweek sales suggested that the album would be top 5, charting at #5, but a slump in sales have resulted in it’s #9 position. However, big congratulations to The Sats on their second top 10 album :). A vast improvement on their first album, Chasing Lights.

In other news, “Forever Is Over” has fallen a understandable 6 places to #8 this week in the UK Singles Chart, mostly due to the new releases this week from Alexandra Burke and Robbie Williams. Could The Sats next (supposedly, rumoured) single “Ego” give them their first #1?

Chip Wants to Work With Sats!

Chipmunk Wants to Work With The Saturdays!

We know these acts like each other and respect (love!) each other’s work, but what if they were combined? Chipmunk, 18, told the Daily Star (according to Digital Spy) he wants to work with The Sats after beating them to #1 with “Oopsy Daisy” on Sunday (Oct. 11). “When I heard we were coming out on the same day as The Saturdays, I was nervous,” he says. “We are going to be working together – gimme one of their verses and I’m gonna kill it.” Speaking on his new notoriety as number 1, he said, “I was just not expecting this. For me, having a number one single is a turning point for rappers, rhymers, MCs in general.” His debut record, I Am Chipmunk, is now in stores. Buy it at his website here.

Chart Update: It wasn’t meant to be.

Work

We at The-Saturdays.Co.Uk regret to inform you that “Work” has already started a chart fall.

Digital Spy reports that “Work” is nowhere in the top 30 according to the midweek chart. This more than likely means their peak position will remain at 22. Of course the death of Michael Jackson has sent a ripple through the charts, him posthumously controlling more than a fourth of the chart.

Remember: These are the midweeks. They are not set in stone. You can change it by buying their single “Work” in Itunes, Amazon, or HMV.
