First thing to say is that its FRIDAY! (Our second favourite day of the week – obviously). Secondly its also now February .. where is the year going?!
Another day, another update, to say its been busy the last month has been an understatement thats for sure!
Firstly a roundup from Twitter, as a few people have already noticed What About Us is basically set to be released everywhere over the next few months. It will be almost impossible for us to report where the song is charting everywhere, so if you are visiting from a country we don’t usually report on please drop us a message (see the Social menu at the top) and we will add it to the news 🙂
Secondly the girls popped into KissFM the other day who have kindly sent over some information for us to post 🙂
During the interview, they told us about an embarrassing situation with Sean Paul, Rochelle being kept up at night by an ‘amorous’ couple next door and Mollie‘s run-in with the law.
Rochelle also discussed shopping and her new home set-up with husband Marvin from JLS.
Plus, Mollie King told us about her worst ever Valentine’s date, the currently single star revealed that she once accidentally went out with her mum on V-Day.
“I once went to the cinema with my mum, it was the worst,” she says.“I didn’t realise it was Valentine’s and everyone was… there were smooching couples around and I was like, ‘mum let’s just leave this is embarrassing.’”and plans for this year.
The girls also fight over who’ll be babysitting Rochelle & Marvin JLS‘s baby!
Another day, more news! The Saturdays are well and truely back in the public limelight both in the US and in the UK!
I’ve added some pictures below of the girls leaving Daybreak yesterday, I’ve added both videos to the site in the news article below this one. They are in lovely HD so you can see the girls!
Last night Mollie was out again, as she attended the InStyle Best of British Talent Event. There doesn’t seem to be any media snippets from the event yet but below I’ve added a couple of pictures of Mollie rocking up in Green (hopefully she’ll be in Red tomorrow!) for the British Heart Foundation!
This morning our girls popped into the Daybreak studios to discuss their new TV show, Chasing The Saturdays, which premieres on E! this Sunday in the UK. Plus to talk about their new single What About Us (released in March, pre-order NOW from iTunes) and to answer some questions from fans on Twitter. You can watch the videos below 🙂
Our very own Mollie has taken to the media to try and find herself a boyfriend (plus of course she’s on the front cover of Cosmo which is out today – so grab a copy!) I’m sure most of these articles are based on the actual Cosmo article, so here’s a behind the scenes video and a round-up:
Speaking to Cosmopolitan magazine the blonde beauty said: ‘I’ve never had a one-night stand or sex on the first date, and I don’t think I ever would. It’s important for a guy to know and understand me before he can even think about taking things to the next step.
For me, the most attractive thing in a man is the ability to make me laugh. He has to be spontaneous, fun and able to banter – it’s not a job interview, it’s a date! I like day dates, and I like throwing the ball in his court.
I’m enjoying being single and I’m definitely not gagging to be in another relationship. When I go out, I’m not going out to find a man; I’m going out to dance the night away with my best friends.
I want the fairy tale and I’m not going to settle for anything less.’
“It’s important for a guy to know and understand me before he can even think about taking things to the next step.”
And by the sounds of things, Mollie’s been listening to Beyonce’s Single Ladies on repeat, because she seems to be LOVING her single life.
“I’m enjoying being single and I’m definitely not gagging to be in another relationship. When I go out, I’m not going out to find a man; I’m going out to dance the night away with my best friends.”
She adds: “The positives [of being single] are huge. I’ve learnt a lot about myself – small things like learning to live by myself and take care of myself. I love that I don’t rely on anyone else or need to lean on anyone else; I can just do things on my own… Being single has definitely given me a new lease of life.”
It’s not non-stop girls’ night out fun however, as Mollie confesses that she’s found heartbreak hard.
“Having your heart broken is hard at the best of times, but being in the public eye has definitely made it harder for me,” she says.
“The point is, you don’t want your ex to read how you’re feeling – or vice versa.
“I’ve had my heart broken and it’s the hardest thing. Everyone says, ‘Give it time, you’ll feel better in the morning.’ But you don’t. You feel like it’s never, ever going to heal – especially during the first few weeks.
“For me it’s always been like, ‘Have I done the right thing? Have I made the right decision?’ You start to doubt yourself, because you still miss that person. It’s like a habit that’s been taken away from you, and you feel lost.”
And it seems as though it took some time to get used to her newly single status, describing it as a “shock”.
“This is my first time being properly single and at first I had that shock of, ‘Oh my god, who do I call at night when I go to sleep? Who do I call if I get upset?’ But I just needed to adapt to that person not being around. Being single has forced me to grow up and be more independent, and that’s something I’m really proud of.”
If you’re interested in wooing the sexy star (that’ll be every man reading, then), read on to discover what you’ll need to fill the man-shaped hole in Mollie’s life.
“For me, the most attractive thing in a man is the ability to make me laugh. He has to be spontaneous, fun and able to banter – it’s not a job interview, it’s a date! I like day dates, and I like throwing the ball in his court.”
She adds: “When I was a teenager I wanted a surfer dude; now I want a man – someone who’s confident and who’ll look after me, and who won’t play games.”
Despite featuring in pretty much every ‘world’s sexiest women’ list going, Mollie says she doesn’t know how to feel sexy, but thinks sexiness is all about being confident.
“Your personality is what makes you sexy,” she says. “The way you hold and deliver yourself. The women I think are sexy in any given room aren’t necessarily the best-looking, but they have an aura and a confidence about them that just gives off sex appeal.”
“In all honesty I don’t really know how to feel sexy. But I do think it’s all about being yourself. Don’t transform into someone else, because people can see through that. Sexy is being independent, being confident and having fun.”
I managed to record some of the live webstream of the girls (a couple of technical issues meant I missed the start) if BBC put up the entire video I will obviously replace it accordingly 🙂
According to various radio stations online the girls are doing a ‘radio day’ in London today so I expect a raft of UK media and press updates coming soon.
In other news, Rochelle has been shopping for baby clothes – according to the DailyMail – and apparently for girls clothes. Check out some pictures below.
Firstly first, @TheSaturdays will be on BBC Radio 1 TOMORROW (Tuesday) from 6.30am. I assume this is to officially premiere the UK version of What About Us with Sean Paul. A premiere date of around this time makes sense as its around 6 weeks before the actual release date, hopefully the video will be following shortly.
Those in North America can rejoice! The Chasing The Saturdays EP is now available to grab digitally on iTunes. I know a lot of US Fans will already have the songs, but it is of high importance that everyone in the US does download it, I mean its only $4.99, and it support the girls! So spread the word and get buying!
We’re gonna have #SatsOnTheBeach … Episode 3 of Chasing The Saturdays aired on E! (USA) last night, apparently Canada got Episode 2 and Episode 1 airs in the UK THIS Sunday (keeping up?) Here’s the official youtube breakdown of the episode with the girls.
Talking Chasing The Saturdays and the UK, if you are in the UK do an iTunes search for ‘Chasing The Saturdays’ and a link does appear, so it looks like we will be able to purchase the show here. Obviously we will find out more a week or so today! As per our stance (ever since day 1) if a show/song is available to legally buy somewhere we won’t put it on the site. Support our girls and buy the show (when it becomes available) 🙂
Rochelle Humes, 23, has spoken out about the comparison, claiming that the girl’s reality show will be focused on their music.
She said: “We aren’t the new Kardashians – we’re nothing like them. We love their show, but what do they do? We’ve performed professionally for years.”
“People used to call us ‘the new Girls Aloud’, and we have worked with them and they are lovely, but if we are the new anything then ‘the new Spice Girls’ gets us more excited.”
The whirl-wind continues as today @TheSaturdays appeared on the Jeff Probst Show. They also gave another performance of the new single ‘What About Us’ out now on iTunes (US/Canada) but this time with a twist, with Una on guitar doing the song aucostically.
I was going to embed the links from the official site but for some reason embedding isn’t allowed. I’m about to run off to my girlfriends for the weekend so I don’t have time to post up our own videos for this show right now, but you can catch all the videos of the girls on the show on the Jeff Probst Website or no doubt if you rummage around youtube.
If I don’t get to update this weekend, then have a great weekend TeamSats! But I have my iPad with me and rest assured any major news will be added here 🙂
Yesterday VEVO uploaded the second Ask:Reply episode which a few familiar names seem to be on there, even if they only answer a couple of questions. Shame really that they aren’t asking more but hey ..
Rather than post both items here you can click through to read them, nothing too excited tho, just Frankie and Rochelle admitting that in more closer times with their parners they wouldn’t listen to The Saturdays. Anyway here are some pictures from the UK launch of ‘Chasing The Saturdays’
