Fusion Festival

fusion-festival-birmingham-logo-2

Our girls have been added to a new summer festival taking place over the weekend of August 31st-September 1st at Cofton Park, Birmingham.

Our girls are set to perform on the Sunday – 1st September – which is due to be headlined by Ne-Yo. Other acts on the Sunday include The Wanted, Conor Maynard, Wretch 32 and James Arthur. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am, costing between £35-£55 for a day ticket and £90-95 for a weekend ticket to take in both days.

Also our own Una has become a online blogger for Hello Magazine, of which her first blog will be online this Friday 🙂

The girls finally fly over to mainland Europe today, to the traditional stop of Germany. Hopefully the girls can make a name for theirselves in Germany and then (usually) that success flows over the borders to other places such as Belgium, Holland, Spain, Italy etc. then they will become a known name in Europe, so *fingers crossed* any new UK Tour will become a fully-fledged European one! 🙂

We will bring you all the updates from across Europe as we find it, but if you live in Germany and notice we miss something please send it over to us via e-mail ([email protected]) or via our twitter @TheSatsCoUk and we will post it on the site 🙂

FrankieEngaged

I’m sure everyone here wishes Frankie and Wayne many congratulations on their engagement, and brings the number of Saturdays girls married, or engaged up to three. Who’s next? Gary and Vanessa, or will Mollie surprise everyone?

[Update] Happy Birthday to Us! Five Today!

Update: At 4.25 this afternoon, we got a tweet from @UnaTheSats herself! Awesome. Many thanks Una 🙂

UnaTweetsSite-7thApril13

Never would I have thought from when ideas of this site where nothing but talk in late 2007, from our launch in April 2008 to this present day, I would be sitting here typing a message that was celebrating our 5th year online. Firstly just a quick thanks to the girls, their record label and management who we have development a great relationship over the years, and for their very kind message in the girls official mailer that everyone should have received yesterday in the e-mail! For those who didn’t get it, then check out the – cheeky – message they was left for us below 😉

MailerMention1

Again, thank you all for your support, it’s made our work a little easier, and we will continue to be here to support the girls for the foreseeable future 🙂

I’ll keep this short and soppy-free but I do feel 5 years does show a lot of work, effort, dedication, and love towards the group. Updates over the past 5 years probably average around 3-4 items a week, obviously videos are very well received and take more effort, and if it wasn’t for the constant love the site gets from the visitors we would have probably stopped a long time ago.

So without sounding like a awarding winning speech, this is how it goes.

Firstly I would like to thank every single person who has worked on this site, from is conception to the present day. There has been an awful lot of you, but you know if you have helped out, in whatever way. You have helped round the site to what it is today in all your own unique ways, so thank you.

Obviously I also extend thanks out to The Saturdays, Una, Frankie, Mollie, Rochelle and Vanessa. We are sure that they poke their nose in now and then and Mollie’s mum also seems to be a fan of the site, so thank you girls for all that you do and long may it continue so that we can! Plus also thanks to the girls label and management who have been very understanding with our requests and have met a few of them, so your help has been priceless.

Last and never least, is you guys and girls. The ones reading this message now, the ones that have been visiting since day 1, or have just visited this weekend due to the mailer mention. Its you who come and look at what we post, reply to us on twitter and facebook, who make all the effort worth it. If we didn’t have any love from the people this site is aimed at, we wouldn’t have made it though five years. So I thank every single one of you, and hope you continue to promote us in your own way to friends and family who need their Saturdays fix.

Thank you one and all! Lets hope Year 6 produces the new album, a new tour and everything we can wish for, the same way Year 5 ended with the girls first UK Number One single!

Thanking you all!

– Matt xx

Friday Feeling

Hello all! I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted here, it’s all gone a little quiet. The girls have all settled down since grabbing that number one with What About Us and played a gig yesterday at Aintree where this post is coming from. It was lovely to see the girls live on stage again. It was my first time of seeing them live for over a year – and how we have all missed them! Welcome back girls, even if it was without Rochelle for obvious reasons! Ill post up some pictures from the show when I’m not posting this from a hotel room in Liverpool on my iPhone! But was lovely to see them to keep songs like ‘Get Ready, Get Set’ on the setlist. That song needs to be heard by the masses. Everyone really enjoyed tha show, great atmosphere. Thanks girls.

In other news it seems Una and Ben are going to appear on episode of All Star Mr and Mrs which should be interesting 🙂 Video on the site after that airs.

I have a couple of more things to post which is proving difficult on a mobile device so will add those when I get to a computer later tonight.

Also if you are going to the Manchester TeamSats meet up tomorrow then say Hi as we shall be in attendance! 🙂

What About Us .. Tuesday Update

Hey all! It’s Tuesday (Just in case you have forgotten) but today will mean we will get a sales/chart update around mid-morning. As most in the UK will know Ant & Dec’s performance of their 1994 single ‘Let’s Get Ready To Rumble’ has taken iTunes by storm and as of posting this (9.10am) its a good 27% ahead of What About Us on the singles iTunes chart. Obviously this doesn’t count sales of What About Us from remixes, the newly released version on iTunes without Sean Paul and EP sales. I was hoping that Ant & Dec would suffer sales from midweek onwards, but once the UK sees a ‘jokey’ number one everyone jumps on the bandwagon! We will see what the damage is later this morning. Either way its still good for everyone to promote What About Us!

Last night (boohoo) saw the LAST Episode of Chasing The Saturdays air on E! in the USA, Season 2, according to various reports is still being debated upon, but as usual here’s the final analysis after-show video:

Here are a few more pictures of the girls after celebrating their number one single, What About Us! I will hopefully get a gallery update soon with some new HQ pictures, keep an eye on our twitter @TheSatsCoUk for updates to our gallery!

Monday Roundup – Number One!

The news today is all about The Saturdays grabbing their first UK number one, and in the process becoming the biggest selling one week single of 2013! I’m sure you are all still bouncing as much as we are. The plus is all this positive news and media for the girls means we are still doing great on iTunes on our 8th day, but we have been overtaken at number one by a 1994 song from PJ & Duncan (Ant & Dec) as they performed it on TV on Saturday, but maybe their sales will tail off as the week goes on! Either way if you’ve not bought What About Us, now is a good of as a time than any!

I think this sums up everyone last night:

Thanks Mollie!

Lots of people asking what is next for the girls, simply put they aren’t really stopping. Their sights are now on other markets and can now actually go to these markets and say ‘We’ve had a number one in the UK’ the near future the girls are performing in the UK, heading to Australia and obviously a little closer to home to mainland Europe, world domination is only a stones throw away.

But until then lets try and reclaim number one on iTunes shall we?

What About Us … NUMBER ONE!

WhatAboutUs

Five years, 14 singles, two number two singles … then came along Sunday 24th March 2013, when The Saturdays hit the TOP of the UK charts scoring their FIRST UK NUMBER ONE SINGLE!!

What About Us sold 114,000 copies last week, 40,000 MORE than Justin TImberlake at number 2, to become the biggest selling one week sales for a single so far in 2013, beating One Direction’s Comic Relief charity single!

Huge congratulations to the girls, and obviously to everyone who has also purchased the single. We also now enter into unknown territory. The task now is to see if we can get the girls to STAY at number one for a second week! So please don’t stop promoting the single, make sure everyone keeps on buying, the girls will get a nice boost of sales tonight and tomorrow too as the press and media keep reporting them at number one. If we are still top of iTunes by the middle of next week anything is possible! So keep going, and once again huge congratulations to the girls on getting their first ever UK Number One single 😀

Here’s the moment the girls finally found out that they where this weeks number one UK single:
