The Saturdays bring their first UK headlining tour to the Liverpool Empire

Jun 25 2009 by Michael Green, Chester Chronicle

The Saturdays pick up the pace and step on it for the release of their new single Work on June 29, coinciding nicely with their UK tour.

The track is The Saturdays’ follow-up track to their hit single, Just Can’t Get Enough, released in March for Comic Relief.

Work sees The Saturdays head to the dance floor and tear the roof off it.

“I’m so excited about releasing Work,” says Vanessa. “It’s one of my favourite songs on the album so I’ve been really looking forward to performing the routine.

“It seems to be a lot of people’s favourite too, so we’re hoping it will do really well.”

The Saturdays are Frankie from Essex, Una from Tipperary, Ireland, Mollie from Richmond, Vanessa from East London and Rochelle from Essex.

They have now embarked on their first ever headline UK tour.

“I can’t believe we are about to go out on our first tour,” says Una.Š“We hadn’t even released our debut single this time last year and nobody knew us.

“So many great things have happened and we can’t wait to go out and perform on our own headline tour.”

The Saturdays are one of the success stories of the last year. In nine months, they have had four top 10 singles and a top 10 album.

They can be seen live at the Liverpool Empire on Monday. Ring 0870 606 3536 for details.

The Saturdays Win Over Fans

June 24, 2009

Electro-pop girl band, The Saturdays brought their glitzy stage show to Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall as part of their first solo tour since hitting the music scene last year.

Following their arrival into girl-pop’s elite, the five-piece – Frankie, Mollie, Vanessa, Una and Michelle – have stormed the charts with a series of hits including.

They rocked the crowd with tunes like Issues, If This Is Love and their recent Comic Relief hit, Just Can’t Get Enough, smiling when the mostly teenage audience offered appreciative screams and rapturous applause.

The set included a three-song super medley of the girls’ favourite songs, Beggin’ (Madcon), So What (Pink) and I Kissed A Girl (Katy Perry), which went down a treat.

With a stage set more suited for an arena tour, four costume changes and plenty of vocal ability and dance moves thrown in for good measure, these girls will more than likely be playing to a much larger audience next year with a second album and more pop hits under their belts.
