New album recording in January? Plus other news.

What has been going on recently with The Saturdays? Well musically not much (sadly), the supposedly Christmas release of a new single and album – well hasn’t passed us yet – but it is 8th December so we presume that isn’t happening now despite the girls teasing everyone over twitter about being in the recording studio. News has emerged today that Rochelle is quoted as saying that the girls are hitting the studio in January to record their 6th album and that they need to fit it in between people giving birth! Obviously Frankie is on the strictly tour (January-February 2015) and Una is on the live shows for The Voice of Ireland which are in May. We might be waiting for a while ..

Frankie hung up her Strictly shoes last night to attend a special gala performance of Edward Scissorhands at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London. A few pictures I’ve added below.

Frankie has also been talking about her depression, and how she’s managed to control it. It’s a long article to reproduce here so please read it over at the DailyMail website.

To make us all feel even better, Rochelle confirms that herself and Marvin are heading to the Maldives for Christmas – nice! Ben Foden seems to have caught the acting bug, and is set to appear on Hollyoaks!

To finish this round up, we leave you with the thought that Mollie apparently wants to have lots of children!

Cosmopolitan Ultimate #FabulousFriends award

Is it just me, or does this sound like something out of the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party era?

Tonight, princesses of pop The Saturdays were crowned the *bosses* of friendship at our Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards with Baileys. United through the band’s seven years together, they’ve had five albums, 13 top ten singles, three weddings and three baby arrivals between them, and are true testament to the magic that can be made when girls come together.

On collecting their #FabulousFriends award sponsored by Baileys, a delighted Mollie King told us: “The girls are literally my family. It’s lovely to get an award for our achievements and this is even more special because it’s about the fact we are best friends – and friendships are more important than any success.”

Whether you’re navigating the pop charts or the January sales together, the fundamentals of friendship are the same whether you’re famous or not. There are broken hearts to be mended, milestones to be celebrated and imperative group decisions to be made (e.g. what take-away to order for your girls night in AND exactly what shade of coral nail varnish to go for with that first date manicure?) “We all have our moments but as a five we always feel most confident together. You know you’ve got each other’s back whatever happens,” Frankie says. So from avoiding squabbles to helping each other through hard times, our winners dish out their top secrets on how to keep your girl group on top..

As reported previously Mollie is lending her support to the British Heart Foundation’s ‘Roll Out The Red’ 2015 campaign.

Mollie says: “I’m honoured to be hosting the Roll out the Red Ball in aid of the British Heart Foundation. It is such a fantastic charity which is very close to my heart. My grandfather sadly died of heart disease.

“The BHF has already made vital discoveries in the prevention and treatment of heart and circulatory conditions but there is still so much work to be done.

“Guests attending the ball will be raising funds which will go directly into life saving heart research. The evening promises to be one to remember!”

Entertainment on the night will include a performance by a very special guest comedian, music and dancing, as well as an auction packed full of money-can’t-buy experiences and luxury items.

Tickets for the event start from £200, all money goes straight to the British Heart Foundation.
