The Saturdays

This is generic news about The Saturdays.

We wish you a Merry Christmas …

… We wish you a Merry Christmas, we WISH you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Alrighty well that’s it for the singing from me this year… However to get everybody into the christmassy mood if you weren’t already, here’s some lovely performances from the girls with Christmas in mind! I can guarantee you they sound a lot better than me … 😉 These performances are quite old, about 2 years, so I’m hoping you’ll have forgotten about them and you can enjoy them again! Here they come …

“Winter Wonderland” on the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge:

“Ego” with a twist on GMTV:

“Ego” with a different twist on Alan Carr Chatty Man:

Make sure, if you click through to YouTube, to click the snow button (next to the quality button) for even more, erm, snow fun! (works especially well on “Winter Wonderland”) Seems YouTube is blocking GMTV worldwide and Alan Carr in a lot of countries as well, that’s why I’m adding Dailymotion videos so you can still enjoy those videos! 🙂

[Updated] All Fired Up At… Wembley Arena!!

Need to get this as a New Year’s promise or something to put a post up weekly for these flips! THIS week’s however – which is viewable on http://www.thesaturdays.co.uk/ – is a bit special as it includes Matt at some point! Those eagle eyed and aware of what he looks like might spot him, otherwise if you have been to the Wembley show you might spot yourselves as well!

I don’t want to completely embarrass him but 1 minute in you should be able to spot him… 😉

Update: seems they are finally uploading the flips to YouTube themselves again … Catch the flip below! 🙂

The Saturdays get Tickled Pink

To celebrate Tickled Pink’s 15th anniversary, Asda will be hosting the perfect ‘Girls’ Night Out’ at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in West London on 12th January 2012.  The star-studded line-up includes fantastic vocals from Breast Cancer Care Ambassador Alexandra Burke and friends, with performances from Chipmunk and Dionne Bromfield plus special guests The Saturdays.  Not only will this be a great night of entertainment it will also help raise vital funds for two important breast cancer charities, Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Campaign.

There’s never been a better reason for a big night out with the girls as 100% of ticket sales will be donated to Tickled Pink, which has so far raised a total of £25 million for the charities and £4 million last year alone thanks to the fundraising efforts of Asda customers, colleagues and suppliers.  Join the 15th anniversary celebrations by simply buying a ticket to the concert and having a fantastic ‘Girls’ Night Out’ with Alexandra Burke and friends.

Alexandra Burke, said:  “When Asda told me about their ‘Girls’ Night Out’ concert I couldn’t wait to get everyone involved. It is going to be such a great evening of music and entertainment all in aid of a really important cause.

“I’ve been a Breast Cancer Care Ambassador for a number of years now and am delighted to work with Asda in supporting their campaign and helping them to continue the fantastic work that they do to support breast cancer charities. A ‘Girls’ Night Out’ has never been more exciting or significant – see you there!”

Judith McKenna, Chief Operating Officer at Asda, said: “This event marks 15 years of fundraising and £25 million raised by Asda colleagues and shoppers to date. The ‘Girls’ Night Out’concert is an uplifting way for people around the UK to get involved in fundraising for two important breast cancer charities, raising money for both the much needed research into breast cancer and after care.  With all proceeds going directly to the Tickled Pink campaign – this event provides a great night out and for a great cause.”

Tickets retail from £30 and are available to buy now online at www.ticketmaster.co.ukFor more information visit Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign website at   http://charities.asda.com/tickled-pink

Una’s announcement of the engagement with Ben

First off congratulations to them! With Una pregnant this was really the only right thing left to do! I wish them all the best 🙂 Below, and warning that this IS a bit of a tour spoiler perhaps (but then again it is over so), is a video of Una’s announcement on stage at Wembley just under a week ago, followed by a performance of “Wish I Didn’t Know”. (bit of a strange song choice perhaps after the announcement as I’m sure her and the crowd are thrilled to know but … LOL)

Thanks to the people in the chitchat box for pointing me out to this video 🙂

All Fired Up Tour comes to an end…

As Nelly Furtado would put it, why do all good things come to an end? Sadly they just do… With just 2 more dates left at Belfast and Dublin – and to those attending, enjoy it! The show should be smooth as butter by now! – sadly another Saturdays Tour is coming to its end. All is not lost fortunately, as posted just over a week ago they have filmed the tour at Manchester so surely we should be getting a DVD of that… So if you haven’t been able to see them live – like me! – don’t feel too bumped as you’ll be able to purchase the DVD for rather less than a ticket and watch it on your TV screens and a comfy couch to sit on! (and you can hit pause if you just HAVE to visit that toilet) Sadly for those abroad it seems the girls still remain focussed on the UK for now, although this morning when I was on the Dutch iTunes doing a search on The Saturdays I found out they’d put their latest album “On Your Radar” on there as well as quite a lot of their recent singles! So if you live in Holland like me, get yourselves an iTunes account and an iTunes card (if you need any further instructions move it to the chit-chat section on the site!) and buy some of their stuff to show the Dutch market there is definitely impatient Saturdays fans waiting for them to do something over here! Also if you live anywhere else do try checking your iTunes and if you can give us a heads up in the chit-chat if their songs are available on there, that’d be great so we can inform fans all around the world with ways to support the girls even if you are not located in the UK 🙂

To those attending tonight’s show at Belfast or tomorrow’s at Dublin: enjoy it! To those that have attended previous show(s): charish those memories! To those that haven’t attended any of the shows: await that DVD and get yourselves the Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set now on sale at Universal – including the Headlines Tour on DVD! – to enjoy until we can give you a heads up on preordering the All Fired Up Tour DVD!

London M&G & Una Announcement

Firstly huge thanks to the girls of @TheSaturdays for their very kind words about this very website and noticing that we have been here since day 1. It was lovely to meet you all last night at Wembley and the kind words will make everyone who works on the site feel that little bit better. So thank you girls 🙂

Secondly I want to take this opportunity to thank EVERYONE who has worked on this site since the early days. The few that helped create the site in the first place and got the site on its feet. Those whom have worked on the site more recently and of course the current team that help design and keep the site going. Without these dedicated people we wouldn’t be here today that is for certain!

Lastly obviously we wouldn’t be here without The Saturdays, and without YOU for visiting us and giving us all the support we need to keep on going!

Huge thanks from The Saturdays Fansite Team 🙂

On another note, Una last night announced that she and Ben are now engaged 🙂 I’m sure everyone visiting will send their love and support to the newly engaged couple 🙂
