Disco Love!!

Hey all! Hope you are all having a wonderful August, I’ve just returned from a few days back in South Wales, very relaxing, and have returned to the news of Disco Love!

the-saturdays-disco-love

Apparently there will be FOUR different coloured covers for Disco Love, and there are some very special b-sides this time around, the girls have covered Disco classics; Evelyn King’s ‘Love Come Down’ and Donna Summer’s ‘On The Radio’, which for those of you old enough might remember Martine McCutcheon doing a cover of this in the early 00s (It went Top 10 too!). (Correct me if I’m wrong) but there is no news if the CD will be available to buy as 4 different CDs – a bit like All Fired Up came with that vinyl release – but more will be known on Monday – yes THIS Monday – where Disco Love will get its radio premiere on CapitalFM at 8.05am – don’t miss it! You will be able to pre-order the song shortly afterwards! The single is due to be released on 8th October. The song is due to get its live debut NEXT FRIDAY in Scarborough (We are going, so hopefully see some of you down there!)

The girls also are at the V Festival this weekend, we believe that the girls will get their TV coverage tomorrow on Channel4 and 4Music. Any videos will obviously be on the site to view, keep an eye on our Twitter account for the latest to when that will be available 🙂

The Saturdays hit Kent!

Last night The Saturdays hit the Glow, a new music venue at the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent. I was very fortunate to have a Meet & Greet with the band too. For those wondering, I chatted to Una and Rochelle – who said she will follow us on Twitter, as the others do, so if you are reading this Rochelle @TheSatsCoUk 🙂 – about this website, Adam also came over to talk about this very site and how the girls and their management enjoy what we do, and that they check it daily, so Hi to everyone at Fascination and the girls!

As for the show, the girls obviously welcomed back Rochelle, but lost Frankie! But still it was a great show, just over an hour long as the girls played all the hits, and they still include the rather epic ‘Get Ready, Get Set’ which gets a thumbs up from me, and Mollie apparently who seemingly loves the song as much as the rest of us!

If you are going to V next week, or Scarborough the week after you are in for a treat for the August headlining shows thats for sure 🙂 I’ve added a few videos from tomorrow below, so please enjoy, including a performance of ‘Chasing Lights’ … no thats not a typo 🙂

Mollie, Frankie, Album, Bluewater

Firstly we start with the news that Mollie was out and about in the North East yesterday, presenting a National Lottery Award to the favourite educational project to the Newcastle based Seven Stories.

“Seven Stories is a place that really encourages reading and storytelling,” she said. “A problem with dyslexia is that people can sometimes jump to the conclusion, ‘Oh, she’s thick’. “Some people find spelling difficult and for some people it’s reading. My spelling is fine but for me it is the reading. “They all knew I was dyslexic at school but when we had to read a story out aloud in class I hated it. “Growing up, it definitely put me off reading books but my mum would help me, reading to me and encouraging me to read. It’s so important to have good stories that really appeal to children.”

I’ve added some pictures from the event below 🙂

Frankie has also been out and about, but for different reasons, seems to be giving Mothercare some kind promotion as herself and Wayne have been shopping for baby items (boy of course!) again added some pictures of the glowing Frankie below.

Also Frankie has tweeted today that they are making final decisions about the album, and The Alias tweeted that they are in the studio with the girls, and of course as is The Saturday at the moment threw in another year, this time 1979!! We will be in the swinging 60s soon!!

Also incase you’ve not heard, Rochelle and Marvin are presenting ‘This Morning’ on Friday 23rd August. This is the same day as the girls show in Scarborough (250miles away from London) – Rochelle has said she WILL be at the show, as will we! 🙂

Last, but never least, we hope we will see some of your down at Bluewater THIS SATURDAY, for the girls first show in August. We’ve kindly now got a Meet & Greet with the group, but we would love to see more of you down there too. Tickets are (widely) available for the new venue in Kent, so pop over to Ticketmaster and grab yourselves a ticket now! 🙂 This is a full concert everyone, with support acts too (Only The Young and James Graham)

Summer Time

As most of you are probably aware I work in a school, so August is the main time that I have off for summer holidays! Obviously we are around the time of Disco Love, the 17th single from The Saturdays. But little else is known (remember that the What About Us music video was filmed, what was eventually months before its release) so the same might be happening here.

As you might expect I might not be able to jump on the site, the second any news breaks about the song, so the best way to stay up-to-date with the site news is to follow us on Twitter – we are followed by three of the girls now as Una followed us last week. So join Vanessa, Mollie and Una and follow us on twitter. I will have my phone on me, most of the time, so anything that breaks is likely to be tweeted out before this page is updated.

We will be at two shows this August, we will be at Bluewater, Kent on 10th August, and also in Scarborough, North Yorkshire on 23rd August. We hope to see some of you at these shows, so please say Hi 🙂

The girls are obviously at V too, which is covered on TV, we are on holiday around the time of the V-Festival, so not sure on video availability right now, but we will obviously updated everyone about that nearer the time.

If you are also on holiday in August, have a great time 🙂

The girls hit Alton Towers

You might remember all those many months ago when we announced that Frankie was to become a Mind Ambassador and alongside this a competition was created to spend the day with Frankie at Alton Towers? Well today was that day and a lucky few managed to spend the day with Frankie, Mollie and Vanessa at Alton Towers.

We do hope that the Mind Charity have got what they wanted from this day which was a key exposure for the charity and the good work they do for those suffering from mental illnesses such as depression which obviously our Frankie was treated for 🙂

Disco Love

“Take us back to 1999, DJ playing Hit me baby one more time…”

No, no, relax its not a song from the 90s from Steps or S Club, its the NEW SINGLE from The Saturdays. It was confirmed yesterday (after rumours) that the new single is called ‘Disco Love’ and the girls shot the music video in London yesterday, there are a few pictures of the shoot below.

Not much else is known about the song just of yet, but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to hear it 🙂

National Lottery Anniversary Run

TNLAR_Finish.jpg

Hey all! As its still a tad quiet inbetween Mollie posting bikini pictures and Frankie’s baby shower, I’d thought I’d update you all on a little run me and Rosie did yesterday.

We both took part in the National Lottery Anniversary Run, which was the first official event to take place inside the London 2012 Olympic Stadium since the end of the Olympics last year. The run was 5 miles (8Km) around the London 2012 Olympic Site, finishing inside the Stadium in front of 20,000 odd people (and Little Mix!)

We both decided to run for two charities, one that you all know well – Dyslexia Action – and the Dyspraxia Association. On Saturday before the race, Mollie’s Mum, Sue, donated to our race, which was very kind and lovely of her, we thank her again on the site for her generosity.

We both completed the race in just under 1Hour 14mins. Which meant we ran each mile in just under 15mins – in the heat in central London – which although we both admit isn’t a staggering pace – this wasn’t a race about setting personal bests – although this is for both of us as its our first 5mile race – it was about raising money and awareness for charity! Hopefully we can both get an entry for the 2014 race and aim to finish under one hour.

To date we have raised £193! You can still donate online via JustGiving – if you can spare a couple of pounds, of even £1 we will be very grateful. You can donate no-matter where you live or what your currency is!
