Frankie offers advice to Little Mix

Seem @thesaturdays are having a bit of a break after the tour, with Christmas over and done with now, and New Year coming up soon 2012 will be an interesting year for the group, with Una’s baby due amongst other things. Hopefully it won’t be too quiet, we are likely to see another single – probably a slow one, what with Una expecting soon – and then you can flip a coin if we will see a re-release of ‘On Your Radar’ or maybe another album release … greatest hits anyone? … either way it shouldn’t be too quiet, but I think 2012 will be more on the quiet side than some fans might have been used to. If you miss a girl band craving, it seems our girls are still offering advice to X-Factor winners Little Mix, this is via CapitalFM:

The Saturdays have admitted that X Factor winners Little Mix asked them for advice when the two girl groups met.

The ‘Up’ singers revealed that it was nice to be looked up to as they did the same thing with Girls Aloud when they were first starting out together.

Speaking to Capital FM about Little Mix, singer Frankie Sandford said: “They asked us for some advice and it was really nice being in [that] position.”

“When we met Girls Aloud we were like Little Mix and we were like ‘have you got any advice’. It’s actually really nice to be able to look up to someone and it’s nice for us to be able to be like ‘oh, we were like that before’,” she added.

Frankie and the girls recently finished their UK and Ireland arena tour and at their Wembley Arena show, singer Una Healy announced her engagement to England rugby star Ben Foden.

Frankie is still recovering but will tour

The Saturdays’ Frankie Sandford is still recovering from illness but will take part in the girl group’s forthcoming tour.

The ‘On Your Radar’ star rejoined the band earlier this month after taking almost eight weeks off to recover from the undisclosed illness.

In a statement, a spokesperson for The Saturdays said that Frankie is currently only rehearsing with the group ahead of their ‘All Fired Up’ tour.

“‘Frankie is still ill and she’s taking her time to recover. Under doctor’s orders she is only permitted to attend tour rehearsals,” they told MailOnline.

“She’s easing herself back in to things with the group but will be appearing on the tour which starts at the end of this month.”

Meanwhile, The Saturdays have given fans a sneak peak at their new album ‘On Your Radar’, which is released on Monday (21st November).

‘On Your Radar’ includes the singles ‘Notorious’, ‘All Fired Up’ and new song ‘My Heart Takes Over’.

Frankie to ‘return soon’

We don’t have any ‘additional information’ that we can really share about this, but to keep everyone up-to-date the groups spokesperson has confirmed that Frankie will return to the group as soon as she has recovered. The group’s spokesperson has been reported in the media as saying:

“She will be back with The Saturdays soon, when she is fully recovered.”

We know a lot of fans are worried about the constant speculation about the group splitting and Frankie not returning to the group etc. This is all media talk, please don’t get too upset and worried about it. As soon as we hear something we can officially report we will do so as we don’t really want to get into the habit of sharing gossip and unconfirmed reports.

Rochelle Wiseman told Digital Spy: “No, we’re not splitting. Frankie’s not very well and you can’t even have a flu or a runny nose before people start saying you’ve left the group.”

Mollie King added: “The thing is, as soon as you’ve been around for a certain amount of time those rumours are always going to start.”

Una Healy concluded: “In any other job if somebody had a few days when they were sick, nobody would say they’ve left. What are you supposed to do? You can’t come to work if you’re ill.”

Frankie checks into Clinic

We wish her a speedy recovery! Good luck @FrankieTheSats

POP beauty Frankie Sandford has alarmed fans by checking herself into a clinic.
The Saturdays babe was admitted to a centre for “unconfirmed reasons” after disappearing off the party circuit for over a week.

Her spokesman last night confirmed Frankie, 22, had signed into a clinic but said her treatment was nothing to do with drink or drugs and was not for a cosmetic procedure such as a boob or nose job.
Frankie herself admitted she had been poorly after posting a message on Twitter to bandmates Rochelle Wiseman, 22, Una Healy, 30, Mollie King, 24, and Vanessa White, 21.

She wrote over the weekend: “Sorry I haven’t Tweeted in a while. I’ve not been very well. Miss u. I’ll b back soon x.”
It comes after the star missed several group outings, leaving fans wondering if the sexy girl group were on the verge of a split. Last week the band members went to view a new Marie Curie Hospice Centre being built in Solihull, West Mids, but Frankie was forced to pull out.

Then she was also absent from a group visit to their vocal coach Priscilla Jones. Sources have said the singer is being supported by boyfriend and Manchester City footballer Wayne Bridge, 31, but they refused to speculate on the reasons why she has checked in.

Last night fans were sending her their best wishes. One wrote: “Frankie we miss you! The girls don’t look the same without you! Please come back!”

Frankie’s ex-boyfriend, McFly star Dougie Poynter, 23, checked himself into rehab after their relationship ended last November.

Where’s Frankie, Girls?

A non-news item but as every newspaper/media is reporting this I’ll post it up here for everyone to have a laugh at ….

Ms Sandford seems to be MIA. Could she be about to leave The Saturdays? This would be bad news indeed.

Mollie King, Rochelle Wiseman, Vanessa White and Una Healy all went for some vocal training yesterday.

But Frankie was noticeably absent from the group.

Worringly, it’s not the first time this month that The Saturdays have made an appearance sans their short-haired friend.

Last week, the girls paid a visit to a Marie Curie hospice in Solihull, but Frankie sat it out.

It’s understandably started rumours that all might not be well within the group.

They’ve already reassured fans that they’re not splitting despite Una’s pregnancy, but could they be planning to continue on as a foursome?

It’s like Robbie Williams leaving Take That all over again. Or Geri Halliwell leaving the Spice Girls. Our nerves can’t take it.

All Fired Up – Behind The Scenes (Una & Frankie)

As you are probably aware @thesaturdays are on a mission to get 20,000 likes on the girls individual facebook pages, it seems (maybe a bit slower than expected) that Frankie and Una have passed this mark … come on Mollie, Vanessa and Rochelle fans! They’ve put a couple of videos up from ‘Behind The Scenes’ of the All Fired Up Music video, you can watch these below:

The Saturdays hide at Burnley FC

I don’t usually post stories like this but found this a little funny!

The things those girls in The Saturdays will do to help a mate – even hiding out in a sweaty footballers’ changing room for FIVE hours…

And it was all to make sure bandmate Frankie Sandford didn’t bump into her ex, Dougie Poynter.

The Saturdays, whose single All Fired Up is out next month, were playing on the same bill as McFly at the Towneley Live festival in Burnley at the weekend.

To avoid any awkward encounters between ex-lovers Frankie, 22, and Dougie, the girls hid out at nearby Burnley FC – and made sure that McFly had flown the coop by the time they showed up at the festival site.

My source tells me: “Organisers arranged transport for the girls so they would arrive at the festival site once McFly had left – to make sure the pair didn’t have to bump into each other.

“They both made it clear that they respect each other’s privacy, so it was more to make sure there wasn’t any unnecessary awkwardness.

“Fortunately, McFly were first on the bill at 3pm, so the girls were able to stay out of the way until their stage slot later in the afternoon.

“They didn’t get to Towneley Park until McFly had headed off to another gig in Doncaster.”

Here’s my video from Towneley Live from the weekend – All Fired Up 🙂
