I’m Marit, 19 years old and studying for Teacher Assistant. I was born and live in Holland. I actually got to know the site owner before this site through another fansite I run with him – MattPCDWorld.co.uk – I then started to listen to some of The Saturdays’ music, watched some of their videos and decided I quite liked them! Since then I’ve been following them, and you understand as soon as Matt asked for volunteers I was the first to apply! I hope you’ll enjoy visiting this no nonsense fansite for The Saturdays that has been around, well, longer than they have!

The Saturdays in Demand for Artistic Charity Campaign

The public selects….. The Saturdays!

The Saturdays are some of Britain’s most in-demand celebrities according to a national poll conducted for the charity campaign Pushing the Envelope.

The poll reveals which celebrity they would most like to see design an envelope for the charity campaign which raises money for the National Literacy Trust and is funded by Pitney Bowes.

On 2 November 2009, a host of celebrity-designed envelopes will be auctioned on eBay as part of the sixth annual ‘Pushing the Envelope’ charity campaign. In the past, many celebrated entertainers, authors, illustrators and artists have lent their support, including Kate Winslet, Bruce Forsyth and Damien Hirst.

If you’re interested in finding out more then visit the campaign’s website http://www.pushingtheenvelope.info or keep up dated by following http://twitter.com/envelopeauction

Saturdays single ‘penned by Busted star’

Saturdays single 'penned by Busted star'

The Saturdays’ new single ‘Forever Is Over’ was written by former Busted star James Bourne, it has emerged.

The girl group, who are currently putting the finishing touches to their second studio album, reportedly paired up with Bourne to create a “rockier” sound distinct from their labelmates Girls Aloud.

“‘Forever Is Over’ will be the song which finally distances The Saturdays from all the Girls Aloud clones remarks,” a source told the Daily Star.

“It’s totally unlike anything they’ve ever done before. It’s a big ‘F*** you’ to a boyfriend after a break-up, and sounds like nothing Girls Aloud would ever release either.

“Everyone around the band is very excited as they’ve really started to hone their own sound. James wrote all of Busted’s number ones, and a massive bunch of McFly hits too, so he knows what he’s doing when it comes to pop and rock with a mainstream edge.”

The Saturdays reportedly threatened to go on strike recently after claiming that their management were working them too hard.

‘Forever As One’ will precede the girl band’s second album, scheduled for release in October.

Mollie King has revealed that her friends are unsurprised to find her walking around the house naked when they visit.

The Saturdays singer said that despite being comfortable with no clothes on, she is not interested in exposing herself to the paparazzi, The Sun reports.

King said: “I am always walking around naked. When people walk in, they say, ‘Oh God, Mollie’s nude again’.

“I guess I’m not very British like that, although I wouldn’t flash my pants to any photographers.”

Earlier this year, King promised to “give GaGa a run for her money” with a “raunchy” video for The Saturdays’ fifth single Work’.

The Saturdays confess to diva strops

The Saturdays confess to diva strops

The Saturdays have admitted that they are known to behave like divas when things annoy them.

Bandmember Una Healy, 27, revealed that she makes her feelings known if she doesn’t receive high standards of service when eating out.

She told Celebs On Sunday: “I’m most diva-like in a restaurant – if I get put on a table that’s too close to someone else, or it’s not in the area with the nicest lighting. I’ve been known to walk out before.”

Meanwhile, her fellow singer Frankie Sandford, 20, confessed that she saves her outspoken antics for her relationship with McFly star Dougie Poynter.

“I think girls are always a bit diva-ish with their boyfriends,” she explained. “Me and Dougie keep getting pictured with him carrying loads of bags. It’s like: ‘He’s a gentleman, he carries my bags’.”

The girls recently made headlines after allegedly threatening to go on strike following a dispute with their record label.

Get ready ‘to spice up your life’ version 2.0

By Joseph Durie

If you thought the “Spice Girl” phenomenon was dead, think again.

A new British girl-band called “The Saturdays” are taking the world by storm, with their shameless pop album Chasing Lights, and with their long legs, and raunchy videos.

The girls say they are not models who can sing. In fact, all five have been performers all their lives, either at theatre schools or doing live gigs. Shame all that training did not include media interviews

Could these shameless pop princesses fill the pop void left by the spice girls last decade?

The Saturdays are making all the right moves, winning awards and performing with boy bands.

With their model good looks, catchy tunes, and a second album already recorded, but not yet released – The Saturdays are unstoppably on their way in.

Harris song ‘rejected by The Saturdays’

Harris song 'rejected by The Saturdays'

Rex Features

Calvin Harris has revealed that he originally wrote Dizzee Rascal’s new single ‘Holiday’ for The Saturdays.

The ‘Ready For The Weekend’ star offered the song to Rascal last year after it was first rejected by the ‘Issues’ singers.

“I wrote it for The Saturdays. But they didn’t like it. Or their A&R guy didn’t like it. But Dizzee liked it,” he told The Independent. “It happens.”

The Scottish producer insisted that his reputation had improved since pairing up with Rascal on their 2008 number one ‘Dance Wiv Me’.

“The fact that the guy who did ‘Acceptable in the 80s’ did a record with Dizzee made me slightly more credible to the outsider,” he said.

“So I guess from that slightly cynical marketing point of view, that was good.”

‘Holiday’ is released on August 31.
