I’ve been running fan websites since around 1997, when I launched a Spice Girls website, a few years later I launched a website for the pop-group Steps, which in 1999 became Generation Steps later in the mid 00′s I launched PCDWorld and later The Saturdays Fansite. I’m presently a Network Administrator and a trustee for the UK charity the Dyspraxia Foundation.
Hey everyone! Today we are on a day off here in Birmingham. But as we all have internet access free in our hotel rooms we have spent most of our time tapping away and responding e-mails and doing a lot of catching up with everything! BUT as per usual we managed to find our way to the “Bullring” which has a huge shopping centre. I had to buy a new pair of “dancing” shoes as I was finding the ones I perform in a little restricting because they were too high:( so I had to compromise fashion for comfort! I got a new pair that I could run a sprint in! haha! They are not bad either, I think I can pull them off?!! they are a safe black pair with a little strap and a medium heel. As you all know I am Irish, just got off the phone there to one of my friends, feel a little homesick now:( I haven’t been home to Ireland in 3 months! But I am so busy and time is flying by so sometimes I tend for forget how long it has been! Ok gotta go and have some room service dinner! (yum..not!!)
It’s Frankie again. Me, Una and Roch decided to go check out the pool this morning, do a few lengths to work off the tour belly. Unfortunately we only managed about 5 lengths! Ha. And to be honest after watching Roch’s warped version of synchronized swimming for 10 minutes id had enough! Lol. So we took the easy way out and chilled in the Jacuzzi- My idea of keeping fit!
Obviously all that hard work worked up an appetite so we popped out to grab a sandwich. It was so cold we had to do the typical English thing and sit in the car! Ha. you’d think we had enough of being cooped up in there, but it’s kind of become like our little home! Hahaha man we are cool!!
Now I don’t know about you guys, but computers and me don’t have a great
relationship! Lol I go on the Internet download my photos and that’s about it, but no no no…there’s a whole load of things you can do! One of Girls Aloud’s dancers was really sweet and totally updated my whole laptop!
Something I haven’t done since I got it a year ago, apparently it’s really important. I am such a girl! So I am currently writing from my new and improved super supped up MacBook! Haha Go me! Clearly this excites me as I felt the need to let you all know!
Anyways, back to the important stuff.
The performance in Sheffield tonight went really well. The crowd were awesome!
I tried out a different pair of shoes for this one and felt like I was wobbling all over the place! So back to the good old faithfuls with innersoles and heel grips! Pretty sure I’ve given you all a really hot image now. Me dancing around in granny shoes! Lol. Billiam stood at the side tonight to watch which was really sweet. The support acts are becoming a right little team.
I’m really starting to feel comfy on tour now. I never want it to end!
Everyone backstage has become like a Girls Aloud extended family. We get on really well with the dancers and especially the band they are always up for a laugh. And when they get the chance they come and watch us perform! The crew are always about making us laugh and do a great job at keeping us in check on stage. Don’t even get me started on catering! I’m pretty sure we’ve all put on a few pounds since being away. The food is so yummy! We are always first in the canteen and the last to leave. Not too sure if I should admit that! Haha. Oh well!
By the way if your one of the girls that stood up and danced the whole way through our show tonight, thank you. Hope you enjoyed yourself! You guys are awesome!
We left straight after the show to get to Birmingham and have just arrived at a lovely hotel. I managed to bag the single room, which is even better.
Whoop whoop!
Right I’ve got to go. Mollie and Una just came in with some noodles and edamame for me!!! Yuuuuumy! Fingers crossed there’s no maggots in these ones!
(Ok I’m just doing that to wind the girls up cos they think I ALWAYS say that, hehehe!!)
How’ve you been?! Busy? We have been crazy busy!!!….
Monday called for a day off at home at last!! It was so nice to see my family and just hang out in my PJs all day, until, suddenly we got a call from our management telling us to come into the office to watch our video for “If This Is Love” for the first time EVER!!! Ahhh we were so nervous and so excited!! We all shot up there as fast as we could and all I can say is….. OH. MY. GOD. IT. IS. AMAZING!!!! We were so SO happy, Ness and I even started crying!!!! We all ran out of the office after and had a group hug (yes, my idea, you know I like to cheese things up, haha!). I wanted to run out onto the street and shout “HEY EVERYONE OUR MUSIC VIDEO ROCKS!!!”.
(Don’t worry, I did manage to resist!!… Kind of!) But I really hope you like it as much as we do!! And hey, while I’m talking about the vid, I just wanted to say thank you SO much to everyone who helped us with it – Harvey (the genius director), everyone at the label, hair, make-up, stylist, Kate our choreographer, and our management!!! Ok ok, now I just sound like I’m collecting an award, I’ll stop!! (And before you ask, yes, that speech has been written and rehearsed already!)
This morning we set off to Nottingham for more fun and games!! The arena was pretty freezing because it’s normally used an an ice rink!! My shorts were NOT a good idea, ahh, but we got a BRILLIANT response from the crowd, so thank you so much if you were there!!!!! We got straight back on the road after the show and headed off to Sheffield, where I am now, sitting in the hotel!! I’m sharing a room with Rochelle and we’re just testing out some new face masks I bought!!! Better run now though, it’s time to wash them off or we’ll be going out with green faces!!!!
Please keep all your comments and questions coming into the forum and our myspaces!!! It’s so lovely to hear from you!!
I’ve just had the most amazing weekend. We did 2 nights at 02 in London!
I can honestly say I’ve never performed in front of so many people in my life or seen that many for that matter, it was unreal! It only really hit me in the middle of performing ‘ISSUES’ coz that’s the only track where we literally just sing. I just saw thousands and thousands of lights! I had to pinch myself! Definitely had a Vanessa moment then! We all came off stage buzzing! I then decided to watch GA for like the 3rd time now lol (can’t get enough) They just amaze me.
After all that fun and games we went to a wicked party that Girls Aloud were throwing for everyone involved in the tour. EVERYONE was there and it was really nice to socialise with everyone when you’re not just about to rush on to stage. My bubble burst though when we had to get back in the car at about midnight and drive to Cardiff!! It took three and a half hours so we arrived at 3.30am. I headed straight to bed. It was all worth it in the end though coz Cardiff was brilliant and so much fun!! Right now I’m back in the car which is now officially my second home 🙂 Its quite funny really. I can hear Rochelle in the front chatting away on the phone, Mollie in front of me listening to Britney, Frankie sitting next to her with her packet of sweets and Una next to me with her legs stretched out asleep!! Home sweet home!!!
I’ve just finished the media section, its not full (yet) as The Saturdays haven’t even started the full promo yet, but it has got a few youtube videos and more. Give it a look and remember to pop back on a regular basis as we add more and more media! 🙂
Yeyy so it’s my time to write the blog!! Hope you’re all well and enjoying our diary of the tour!! We’re having just the BEST time ever!! Every day i wake up and literally jump out of bed with excitement!!
So yesterday we had a 10 hour car journey, yes i repeat 10 HOURS, from Glasgow to Bournemouth!! Wowza!! It was full on, but of course us Saturdays made it fun fun fun and had lots of adventures!! I have to say though, i was trying to get the girls to join in with my VERY fun car journey games, and it wasn’t until the last hour that they actually gave in and played, woo!! 20 questions, writing songs, oh we had it all!!! Good times!! 🙂 …although they won’t admit it!! Haha!
Bournemouth is LOVELY!!!! Our hotel is right by the sea! Una, Frank and I went for a stroll this morning (feeling very touristy with our sunglasses on, oh yes!) and then had some lunch in the sunshine!! …Perfect!
We were all extra nervous about performing this evening because our super-cool choreographer Kate was coming to watch, so we really wanted to impress her and make her proud!! After having eaten slightly too much chocolate cake at dinner (oops!), i squeezed into my costume and got ready for SHOW TIME baby!! We banged out the moves though and the crowd were awesome!!
We’re now just back in the room chilling out and are about to head down to the beach for a little evening walk, so i better go!!!!
Hope you’re all well! Thanks for reading!!!
And as Usher says “Peace up, A-town down”! Hahaha!!!
Hope everyone is well. Weve just finished doing our second show in Glasgow and it was so much fun. I’m still buzzing! There was a lovely warmth about the crowd here which is always really nice!
Me and Una didnt hear our alarm this morning and missed breakfast. We literally ran down the stairs in our pjs with no makeup on and had to eat in like 5 minutes. I was actually still in my dream……what a sight!
Rochelle’s just come into mine and Una’s room and we’ve ordered room service which I am overly excited about. Its so nice to have your girls with you, we were just saying today how hard it must be if you were a solo artist because most of the time you’d have to go back to your hotel with no one but yourself. I would be soo bored and wouldn’t know what to do….o gosh im blabbing now sorry guys lol! Im just gonna quickly tell you about tomorrow and I’ll be done, promise! We’ve got to get up really early (I hope I make it) and then we’re travelling by car to Bournemouth. Its gonna be like an 8 hour drive!! I’m going to try and sleep there!
I’m signing out now, girls gotta get their beauty sleep lol!!
