I’ve been running fan websites since around 1997, when I launched a Spice Girls website, a few years later I launched a website for the pop-group Steps, which in 1999 became Generation Steps later in the mid 00′s I launched PCDWorld and later The Saturdays Fansite. I’m presently a Network Administrator and a trustee for the UK charity the Dyspraxia Foundation.

The Saturdays – Blast from the Past

As news is terrifyingly slow, unless you count the Daily Mail posting pictures from the girls Twitter accounts and trying to make up some sort of story from it, I thought I’d post this.

Talking to some wonderful people on Twitter I remembered this ……

One Christmas time in years gone past I spent the best part of my time making this rather epic S Club 8 Montage, now a lot of people know that Frankie and Rochelle where part of this UK Pop Group, a spin off from S Club 7. The guys and girls of the group met up only a week or so ago too 🙂

I thought I’d post this up, its over 30mins long and it mashes up ALL the SC8 singles, and performances into one video, yeah I know its a bit rough around the edges, but this was like in 2004 or something!! It was a while ago.

Hope you enjoy it 🙂

Headlines Tour – Site Visitors Meet & Greet

A few other sites are doing this too, maybe we can all join up in a big #teamsats meet up.

Sadly tho, we are only in attendance at the London show, although if we could get tickets we could squeeze in the Brighton show too, obviously if people wanted to meet up there etc. Be a pointless trip otherwise!

If we can’t pull this off, we might ask some other sites who are doing this if they are willing to combine, I’m sure many people visit lots of sites anyway, so its not like this is an exclusive event 🙂

This is NOT a meet and greet with the girls, this is a teamsats get together before the London show in Hammersmith on the 17th February, friends, parents, sister, brothers everyone is welcome, not sure what or where we’d meet or what we’d even do, but I’m trying to gain numbers of those who would be interested in doing something.

We are meeting the girls at the London gig, so if we are allowed to give them presents/gifts/your messages then we will obviously do so 🙂 We’d clear this with their management/label first as well, so if you cannot win our competition we might still be able to give your presents directly to the girls 🙂 A good reason to bump into us before hand.

We’ll work out details later, but we would like to work out numbers etc. So if you would be interested in this drop us a message on twitter @TheSatsCoUK or drop me an e-mail on [email protected] and we’ll see what sort of numbers of people are interested 🙂

Vanessa White Would Love To Fly

Vanessa White wishes she could fly.

The Saturdays singer dreams of having the superpower as it means she would always be on time for important situations.

She told BANG Showbiz: “I’d like to be able to fly, I’d get to places quicker and wouldn’t have to wait to get anywhere.”

Vanessa’s bandmate Frankie Sandford would also like to have a superpower, but she would appreciate something more practical.

She explained: “I would like to time travel to see what was going to happen and also to look back on the past because I always forget everything.”

Another thing Frankie needs to improve is her tolerance for alcohol.

The 21-year-old pop star – who recently split from her boyfriend Dougie Poynter – previously admitted she gets drunk very easily.

She said: “I’m a rubbish drinker who can only handle one glass of wine.”

Gallery News and Updates

As it’s all going quiet in the world of The Saturdays as the girls have their well earned Christmas break, I thought I’d post a site update.

I thought I’d just update everyone on our gallery situation. We’ve decided to move away from Coppermine which was causing a number of problems in adding pictures to the site, and moved to one which is integrated into WordPress. We aren’t removing the old gallery so you can still view the pictures from that gallery, but all the new pictures are being added to the new one.

You can view both galleries from the link above, the latest pictures that we add are always viewable in the side bar to the right >>

We’ve stopped posting news items when we add gallery items, I did ask what people preferred in the chatbox, but no-one replied. If you like it when I add pictures to post something on the news then leave a comment in this news item 🙂

Talking pictures, I have added over 300 pictures in the last few days, so pop into the gallery and check them out 🙂

Also remember that if you get LOTS of new Saturdays stuff for Christmas, make sure you enter our competition. We are giving away TICKETS to the forthcoming tour, and also a MEET AND GREET package to meet the girls backstage! Don’t miss your chance to win!!! Details are above, just click the graphic 🙂

Saturdays perform at charity show

The Saturdays have put the sparkle into Christmas with an intimate charity show.

The girl group wore co-ordinated glitzy sequinned mini-dresses to play the Breast Cancer Campaign show at London venue Scala.

Hundreds of lucky fans watched the five-strong band perform at the Concert For A Cure with support from Daisy Dares You and Lauren Pritchard.

The show, supported by Kit Kat Senses, raised £100,000 for the charity.

Mollie King from The Saturdays said: “This is a fantastic event to be involved in. We really hope that we have inspired people to donate money to such an important cause.”

Breast Cancer Awareness month took place in October with Kit Kat Senses donating 10 pence from each special edition pink chocolate bar.

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in the UK and accounts for nearly one in three of all cancer cases in women.

Nearly 46,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in the UK each year.

Gallery Updates

Right! Time for some gallery news, as you know we loved our gallery – so much so – that we’ve moved to a WordPress setup now. We’re not removing the old gallery and its still accessible but new pictures will now be posted to our new gallery 🙂 I’ve added a bunch of performance pictures from the last couple of weeks for your viewing pleasure, so please enjoy them 🙂

I’ve added pictures from The Jingle Bell Ball in London & Manchester, BRMB 2010 and T4 Stars of 2010 plus some pictures of them arriving at a London Hotel in early December.

We hope the new gallery wlll make it easier for us to add pictures to the site, so more updates should occur 🙂
