This is an article The Sun did on The Saturdays reception at T in the Park.
THE SATURDAYS led the pop charge on the final day of T yesterday, going down even better than KATY PERRY and LADY GAGA did on Saturday.
And whereas US girl duo DAPHNE AND CELESTE were infamously bottled at Reading in 2000, The Saturdays were instead met with flying undercrackers.
The girls – ROCHELLE, MOLLIE, FRANKIE, UNA and VANESSA – were so popular that fans began queuing to see them an hour before they went on stage.
T-mendous … Rochelle on stage at festival
It meant extra security had to be called in to ringfence the tent where they were performing.
They played a blinder, too.
Una said afterwards: “This is our first time playing the festivals and we’re a girl pop band.
“I was really nervous because it’s mostly indie bands – but that’s changing because Lady GaGa and Katy Perry have done a lot for pop.
“It was just an amazing gig.
“We packed out the tent and what a great crowd it was.
“Nothing could have gone any better all day.”
The Saturdays’ performance was the surest sign yet that they will take GIRLS ALOUD ’s crown when CHERYL COLE and Co finally decide to call it a day.
P.S. For those special few who are going to any of The Saturdays’ shows, enjoy yourselves. Remember: If you catch any pics or vids, you can now upload them on Saturday Night VIP.
